Fishing of swordfish is practiced in the waters of Scilla and Costa Viola for centuries. In the past the hills and the rock of
Scilla were the ideal places to spot the fish in the sea and report them to the lontri typical boats used in the past for this type of fishing.
The luntre was about six meters long, it was equipped with a tree for the sighting five meters high, and the bow crampons caught the fish with the harpoon.
